Recognizing every word in a sentence does not guarantee that you understand what it says. Context, implication, scope, and evidence change the reading. SUPERB exists to help people see those distinctions and make their own judgments.

Know what you mean.

We are building infrastructure for understanding contextual language. Existing linguistic knowledge is the starting point. Real usages, careful comparisons, and human judgment help reveal where a reference needs to grow.

A sense is a distinction in usage; a definition describes it. Evidence should remain inspectable. Uncertainty, disagreement, and unresolved readings should remain visible.

Useful in everyday life.

Lens begins with the passage. Debate Stage begins with a disagreement. What You Mean? begins with the ambiguity in an ordinary conversation. Creator, writing, and organizational products build on the same foundation.

Machines can propose interpretations and locate useful questions. Human judgments provide a different kind of evidence. LITERATE is the contribution and consensus layer being developed to preserve and recognize that work. Token ownership does not determine meaning.

The documentation describes current interfaces and their limits. Release records preserve versions and attribution. The catalogue and licensing page explains how source material can be used.
