These terms apply when you use Superb’s products: Superb Lens (the reader, library and reference), WYM?!, the Superb API and SDK, LITERATE, this website, and products still in development when they open. By using them you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use them.

Superb is development-stage software for reading and exploring language. Experimental interpretations are aids to inspection and may be incomplete or incorrect. They do not establish an author’s private intent.

Who can use Superb

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use Superb with the permission of a parent or guardian. Keep your account and any API key secure; you are responsible for activity under them.

WYM?!

WYM?! is a party game for entertainment. Its cards, reveals and results are playful prompts for conversation, not judgments about anyone. Play kindly: anyone can skip a question, and nobody has to explain an answer.

In party games the app may put a player “on the hook”. Any consequence is chosen by your group, not by the app. Keep it optional, safe and legal, and never pressure anyone into something they don’t want to do.

Anyone with a nearby room’s code can join it while it is open, so share codes only with people you want to play with. Room names are shown to other devices on the same network and to players who join, so the same rules apply to them as to House Rules. Online rooms depend on our servers and may sometimes be unavailable; players on the same Wi-Fi can still play together.

House Rules you write are yours, and you are responsible for them. Don’t write anything hateful, harassing, sexual, or that identifies or targets a real person outside your group. If you choose to share answers anonymously, you give Superb a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to store, analyse and use the shared rounds, including House Rules your group wrote with names removed, to research language and improve Superb’s products, and to publish aggregate findings. If you choose ads instead, the app shows banner ads as described in the Privacy Policy. You can change this choice in Settings at any time.

Your work and collection

You retain your writing and saved collection. Keep an export of work you want to preserve. Browser storage and app storage can be cleared; optional account services depend on availability.

API and SDK

Use the API and SDK within the documented rate limits and any plan you have selected. Keep your key private and do not share, resell or embed it where others can extract it. Do not present Superb’s output as verified fact, an author’s intent or independently reviewed data unless a release says it is. Keep the release identifiers and source attributions that come with the data, and follow each dataset’s licence.

Source licences

Books and datasets retain their own licences and attribution requirements. Check the source information before copying, redistributing, or commercially using a collection. Inspect the data and notices.

LITERATE and contribution previews

Preview judgments are not paid work and do not create a token entitlement. A submitted account judgment is pending evaluation, not an accepted definition or a reward promise. Public token rewards are not active, and nothing on Superb is an offer of securities or investment advice.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Superb to break the law, harass or harm people, infringe others’ rights, send spam, probe or overload our systems, get around rate limits or access controls, scrape the services beyond what the API allows, or interfere with other people’s use.

Our content

Superb’s software, cards, designs and brand remain Superb’s or its licensors’. Apart from the licences above and the catalogue and code licences described on Catalogue and code, these terms do not give you rights to them.

Optional paid services

Prices and included allowances appear before checkout when a paid service is enabled. Manage subscriptions from your account. For a billing problem or refund request, use the contact supplied by the enabled billing service or your receipt. Your statutory rights remain applicable.

Billing support and refunds

Contact billing support with your receipt for failed delivery, duplicate charges, disputed billing or a refund request. Do not send card details. Cancellation stops future subscription renewals; it does not itself refund an already paid period. Any refund removes paid access for that payment. Mandatory consumer rights apply regardless of these terms.

Recover a data-edition order. Optional analytics can be changed through Analytics preferences in the footer when analytics is configured.

App stores

If you got a Superb app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, these terms are between you and Superb, not Apple or Google, and Superb, not the store, is responsible for the app and its support. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is not responsible for claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual-property claims. To the extent a store’s own terms require it, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you are not in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo and are not on a U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Changes, suspension and ending

We may change or discontinue features, especially while products are in development. We may suspend access that breaks these terms. You can stop using Superb and delete your account at any time. We will update the effective date when these terms change and give notice in the product before material changes apply to you.

Disclaimers and liability

Superb is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows, including warranties that interpretations are accurate or that the services are uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, Superb is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid Superb in the 12 months before it arose, or USD 50 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.
