Compare claims

A small edit can change a large commitment. This endpoint compares two propositions while keeping the result separate from factual verification.

Compare scope#

HTTP equivalent: POST /v1/claims/compare. Each statement accepts up to 12,000 characters.

Interpret the response#

The deterministic result reports different_scope for this example. Its differences identify “Some” and “All.” The same pattern can notice simple modality and causal-strength changes.

Identical normalized text returns equivalent with an identical_text basis. That means the strings express the same wording under this check; it does not independently resolve every referent or establish truth.

Keep limitations visible#

Deterministic comparison is deliberately narrow. A complex paraphrase can return uncertain. Do not turn lexical similarity into entailment or contradiction.

Provider-assisted mode is jev; it requires entitled access, configured server credentials, and consent: true. Provider confidence is not calibrated on your product’s conversations.
