Inspect protocol consensus

Protocol consensus records what committed judgments support under a published rule. It is separate from choosing a sense for a passage.

Read a record#

Use getConsensus(contrastId) for account state or predictConsensus({ contrastId }) for its interpreted result. The service checks the configured program and finalized chain commitment.

kind: "observed" requires protocol finalization. A provisional result is an estimate. Neither label makes the result a universal linguistic truth.

Verify the evidence#

Supply the committed artifact to verifyConsensus({ contrastId, artifact }). Reading an on-chain account alone is not replay verification. Inspect verification.replay rather than assuming it is true.

Follow the release#

Use getReleaseCommitment(releaseId) to inspect lineage and verifyRelease to replay a supplied release artifact and its members. Keep reward settlement separate from the semantic consensus record.

Know the trust boundaries#

Artifact retrieval, publisher availability, attestor independence, and challenge resolution remain distinct dependencies. A valid hash does not establish that source permissions or human judgments were correct.
